ക്യൂന്‍ vs. ക്വീന്‍

മലയാളി ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്‌ പറയുന്നത്‌ പോലെ എന്നൊക്കെ പലര്‍ക്കും തമാശയാക്കാന്‍ മാത്രമായി നമ്മളില്‍ പലരും ആവശ്യത്തില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ അവസരം കൊടുക്കാറുണ്ട്‌. പലപ്പോഴും അശ്രദ്ധ കൊണ്ടും ചിലപ്പോള്‍ മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ തിരുത്തി തരുന്നത്‌ അംഗീകരിക്കാത്തത്‌ കൊണ്ടും ആണ്‌. പ്ലീസ്‌, ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്‌ മീഡിയത്തില്‍ പഠിക്കാഞ്ഞത്‌ കൊണ്ടാണെന്ന് മാത്രം പറയരുത്‌.

പക്ഷെ പത്രങ്ങള്‍ എങ്കിലും ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്‌ വാക്കുകള്‍ മലയാളീകരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ കുറച്ച്‌ കൂടി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൂടെ എന്ന് പലപ്പോഴും തോന്നാറുണ്ട്‌. Queen എന്ന വാക്ക്‌ ഇന്നത്തെ പത്രത്തില്‍ മാതൃഭൂമിയും, ദീപികയും മലയാളീകരിച്ച്‌ (പലരും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്‌ പോലെ) ക്യൂന്‍ [qyuun/kyuun] ആക്കി. ഈ കാര്യത്തില്‍ പക്ഷേ മനോരമ എങ്കിലും ശ്രദ്ധിച്ച്‌ എഴുതി, ഭാഗ്യം.

ക്യൂന്‍ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാലെ ആളുകള്‍ക്ക്‌ മനസ്സിലാവൂ എന്നോ മറ്റോ ഇവര്‍ വിചാരിച്ച്‌ കാണുമോ? ഇനി അതല്ല, ക്വീന്‍ എന്ന് ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലും, ക്യൂന്‍ എന്ന് മലയാളത്തിലും പറയും എന്നാണെങ്കില്‍, അങ്ങനെ.

In Protest, we unite

It was more than a month back Yahoo was accused of plagiarism. Along with uniting the bloggers against this, mails were sent to the corporate headquarters to bring to their attention. Though attention was got, there was no action ever since the mails streamed down to Yahoo India. It is really surprising to see how ignorant they have been in this issue. Over the last month lot of drama have been played and unfolded in front of boologam. There have been real attempts to wash their hands off and blaming the vendors. They may be true in that, but why should the end user be worried about it. Yahoo, you are an advantage only till you are clean. Once you are caught red handed you are at the mercy of the victim.

Yahoo!, its time for you to rise and 'shine' (if they can). We dont want you to be the role model for the world ahead. Its time..... not for you in this case of copyrights infringement, but for any corporate or individual, big and small to keep their emotions and ego aside and acknowledge their opposition. Your mistake should not be evaluated by the size of your opposition; and a weak opposition will not nullify your mistake. I can hear the twister just waiting for a touchdown.
